A Message from Principal Mayo

Good Afternoon AVR Families,

Thank you for your continued support of your student’s academic and behavioral progress. As we approach the end of the first quarter, please take time to review your student’s grades in PowerSchool and confirm that all assignments and missed tasks have been completed. If you have questions or concerns, you may contact your student’s teachers by email or send them a message through Schoology.

Our goal is to collaborate closely with families so that we can identify and provide the support each student needs to be successful. Open and consistent communication between home and school allows us to address concerns early and celebrate progress together.

Please also take a few moments to read all the information included in this week’s newsletter. We have several important dates, events, and opportunities approaching, and we want to ensure that families have enough time to plan so that neither you nor your student misses out.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us fulfill our mission of preparing every student for success. When families, students, and staff work together, we create endless possibilities.

Together We R.I.S.E. One Team. One Mission. Endless Possibilities!

With appreciation,
Principal Mayo

HCPS Division Leadership Visits CVR
We were pleased to welcome members of the HCPS Division Leadership team to our campus this past Friday, October 2nd. Their visit provided an opportunity to see our students and staff engaged in meaningful teaching and learning.

We appreciate the division’s continued partnership and support in ensuring our students have access to high-quality educational resources, meaningful opportunities, and caring relationships that help them grow and succeed.

Picture Day Is Coming!
CVR Picture Day will be held on Friday, October 9. Please help your student come prepared and ready for their school picture.

Be on the lookout for a ParentSquare message from Mr. Adams with additional information about how families can view and purchase their student’s pictures.

Parent-Teacher Conferences
As the end of the first quarter approaches, CVR invites families to attend our Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, November 12, from 4:30–6:30 p.m.

This event will provide an opportunity to meet in person with your student’s teachers and staff, discuss their academic progress, and identify any support they may need to be successful. Please mark your calendar and plan to join us.
Information on how to sign up for conference times will be provided in the upcoming newsletters. We look forward to connecting with you!

Join Us for 100 Women Day!
CVR invites our parents, family members, friends, business partners, and community leaders to participate in 100 Women Day on Friday, November 6, from 8:15–11:00 a.m.

We are calling on women from across our community to join us in encouraging, inspiring, and pouring into our young women. Your presence can help our students see the strength of their community, connect with positive role models, and recognize the endless possibilities for their futures.

Please help us fill the campus with women who are ready to make a positive impact. We would love to have you join us! All guests must bring a valid, physical driver’s license to enter the building.

Student Club Selections Are Coming!
Students will soon have an opportunity to review the clubs being offered this school year and make their selections through Schoology. Every student will participate in a club once each month for the remainder of the school year.

Our goal is to provide experiences that are meaningful, engaging, and fun for all participants. Families are encouraged to ask their students about the available options and which clubs they are most interested in joining. Additional information about the selection process will be shared with students soon.
